Background and Credentials

Dr. Bob Dokhanchi has been practicing dentistry for more than 34 years. He attended San Francisco State University before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree with clinical honors from Loyola University's Chicago College of Dental Surgery in 1992.

After spending more than three decades as a private practice owner in Illinois, Dr. Dokhanchi sold his practice and transitioned from full-time dentistry to spend more time with his parents and family in California. He now divides his time between California and Illinois, continuing to practice dentistry in both states.

Throughout his career, Dr. Dokhanchi has built his approach to patient care around four principles: Ethics, Quality, Safety, and Comfort. He believes that good communication is essential to quality dental care and that patients should understand their treatment options and feel comfortable asking questions.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Dokhanchi is the founder of Dentistry in General, a professional community connecting thousands of dentists across the country. He is also a journalist, writer, and advocate for the dental profession, focusing on patient care, professional education, and the future of dentistry.

Dr. Dokhanchi remains actively involved in continuing education, dental technology, and professional advocacy. His passion for dentistry extends beyond treating patients to helping improve the profession for both dentists and the people they serve.
